Reconstituted Muscle

My father, who loves marathon, has given me the inspiration for this project. Due to my love for fitness, I have explored the aesthetics of human body from ancient times to the present, and people in modern society advocate a more healthy body. Muscle cells are trained to tear and recombine to grow, much like people who strive to carve lines of body to gain confidence. I use metal and chains to express self-restraint, and layer upon layer of leather and wool felt to reflect the muscle and skin from inside to outside. Meanwhile, wool felt is made in the same way as muscle grows, which is a process of tearing and recombination. This work embodies the beauty of confidence brought by self-discipline.
